***2023/2024 SEASON*** (UPDATED 3/18/24)

Happy start of High School Track season! Below are the important things to know about the club and how it operates during the spring.

Participation – Everyone has a different situation with their high school program. You are welcome to participate in the club during the spring as little or as much as you would like. The only requirement is that you MUST clear it with your high school coach. Whether you are making a deal with your high school coach to come to club practices instead of school practices because you don’t have vault facilities or a vault coach, or you’re just coming on the weekend to get some extra training, PLEASE discuss AND clear this with your high school coach. If you are coming on the weekend to get extra training, ASK your coach what they want YOU to be working on. We want your training to work in conjunction with what is going on with your high school season.

Schedule – The training schedule during the spring will be dependent on 2 things, demand (signups) and weather. Spring break practices (Mar 25 – Mar 31) are tentative and times/days may change based on weather since we DO NOT have access to the indoor facilities during spring break. Following Spring Break, we will have scheduled practices on Wednesday and Sunday (except Memorial weekend will be moved to Monday). Days and times are listed on the website calendar as well as the signup genius.

Demand (signups) – Any practice requires a minimum of 6 kids to operate and at least 8 is desired. If there are less than 6 signups 24 hours prior to practice, it will be cancelled. If 6 or 7 are signed up it will be decided based on the risk of no-shows. 8 or more should be good to go unless there is a bunch of last-minute cancellations. For these reasons, it is IMPERITIVE that you get signed up and modify any changes to your schedule on signup genius ASAP so that we can make accurate decisions about practice. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090A4AA9AD28A6FC1-202324#/
There are no restrictions on how many practices per week you can sign up for like we had during the winter. If you have not yet completed a registration for this season, you will need to do that as well (click on the black box after all this info).

Weather – It’s rare that we cancel practice due to weather, but the reality of spring in Michigan is that it does happen. If it’s cold or wet enough that we don’t think a productive practice can be accomplished, we will cancel at least 2 hours ahead of practice time. If it’s a day where we do have access to the indoor facilities AND there are enough kids signed up to do indoors, we will relocate the practice inside.

Cost – Spring practices will be charged at the day pass rate ($25 for members and $50 for non-members). Cash is preferred or you can do the online registration. If we get enough signups and we are confident that we will not have to cancel practices due to low demand, then we can set up a prepaid package option with a cheaper daily rate (something like members get 5 for $100). So again, using the signup genius is imperative.

Pole Lending – We will begin lending poles out for the season at the end of spring break. If you have a unique case (dire lack of pole options or an early season competition), we will consider that on a case-by-case basis. Pole lending is NOT first come first serve. We will collect all requests and then determine how best to accommodate everyone. If your pole needs change throughout the season, you can freely trade poles in and out as needed, just let us know as soon as possible so we can verify if it is available or buy it if need be. Pole requests can be submitted here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1mepfR7JbGn8Iqh0dms6zVNtQeamSaB-DldtLgmP9BmI/edit and you will need the following information:

  • A COMPLETE list of poles at your school including length, weight, brand, and flex (if possible).
  • Your current weight and hand grip.
  • What poles you think you need and why.

Summer training will be announced in May but it's expected to follow a similar schedule as this past summer.

Our fees will be of similar structure to the past, but unfortunately there are increases for the first time in about 8 years as the cost of equipment has skyrocketed and we are no longer able to use the school facilities free of charge. There will still be the normal club membership fee ($200) which will cover Sept 1, 2023 - Aug 31, 2024. Training fees for our members will follow the desired level of participation during each period of the year as follows:

Fall Training Fees
$75 - Unlimited Session (13 scheduled)
Winter Training Fees
$175 - 10 Training Sessions
$250 - 15 Training Sessions
Summer Training Fees
$175 - Unlimited sessions (approx. 15)
Day Pass Training Fees

$25 - Member
$50 - Non-Member

The registration link is in the black banner below. Not all options will be active until we get confirmation from the school that we can proceed as planned. Once you have registered, please also use this link to indicate which days you will be attending training so we can plan accordingly. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090A4AA9AD28A6FC1-202324#/ BOTH are necessary. Thanks!
